Your Cantilever Kitchen can be delivered for installation anywhere in Australia. This time last year, this beautiful K3 Kitchen was in our workshop, packaged and ready for delivery to it's Redfern home.
Here are five things you need to know to meet the Christmas deadline:
Map out your project timeline
Count backward from your installation date. Four to six weeks is an industry standard for a quality kitchen manufacturer. Add a couple of weeks for the design process, and to research appliances and accessories.
If you live interstate and are considering our Australia Wide Ex-Factory service add few extra days for shipping.
Always add an extra ‘just-in-case” week to allow for unexpected delays. Delays happen, but it has less impact when you account for it before it happens.
Engage the design process early
More often than not, a kitchen renovation is part a bigger lifestyle plan for the home and family. For some this will involve removing walls, installing new windows or potentially extending the house to create an open plan space.
With all these extra elements, it can sometimes be daunting to know where to start. Engaging our design service early in the development is a great way to address the space as a whole and how the kitchen situates within.
Know what’s involved in your project and get the right advice
A project can involve up to six different kinds of trades for electrical, plumbing, plastering, tiling, painting and floors, so decide early on whether you are going to manage trades yourself or contract a builder.
Our design, manufacture and install process means you’re working with one familiar team from start to end. Along the way, we’ll guide you through the process and keep you on track.
Heading towards the building stage, we can advise whether you’ll need planning or building permits, as well as what to expect from your registered builder.
Our recommended builders have worked on a number of Cantilever Projects and are familiar with our processes. If you would like a recommendation, speak with one of our design consultants.
There’s more to appliances than you think
It’s very easy to get caught up with how you want your kitchen to look – sometimes crucial components like appliances become an afterthought. Each appliance has its unique requirements that need to be accounted for to manufacture quality joinery - so get on to this early in the piece.
Re-use or buy new? We can work with either, so it’s up to you. However, your kitchen is a long-term investment, so don’t let the design be dictated by an appliance that has perhaps had its day. Rule of thumb is, if it’s over five years old sell it or service it.
For appliances, we recommend family owned E&S Trading in Abbotsford, and remains a good option no matter where you live, because we can deliver your appliances with your kitchen cabinetry!
Leave the little things to last
Tiles, lighting fixtures, mixers, and sinks are a great way to show off your personal style but don’t let this be the starting point for a design. Getting the layout right from the start gives you the best canvas for the finishing touches.
