A Shared Language of Home: Cosh Living and Cantilever
From coastal retreats to layered family homes, a consistent design philosophy runs between our long-standing relationship with Cosh Living.
This ongoing collaboration shows how our shared values shape spaces that feel resolved, calm and lived-in.
At its best, a kitchen becomes the connective tissue of a home – linking together rooms, acting as the foundation of daily rituals, and oftentimes the place people linger in. For Cantilever Interiors, our enduring relationship with Cosh Living has continued to grow in precisely this way – as a dialogue carried across multiple homes, years and expressions of domestic life.
This shared language is evident in The Eyrie, a warm and elevated family home where Cantilever’s joinery sits comfortably among a considered layering of Cosh Living furniture. “Stepping into The Eyrie, you are immediately met with an atmosphere of warmth and light,” says Annabel, Marketing Manager at Cosh Living.
“Earthy hues, natural textures and timbers work in harmony to create a grounded yet elevated interior, while the leafy outlook brings a sense of openness and tranquillity.”
Furniture selections throughout The Eyrie reinforce this sense of cohesion, incorporating pieces such as the Portland Pedestal dining table, paired with the Johanna high back chairs – both with timber as a defining feature. “The use of pieces with timber accents create a sense of harmony in this home,” Annabel notes. “Paired with creamy tonal leathers, and warm upholstery options, there is a feeling of cohesion in the home.”
This sensibility also underpins Scenic Abundance, an earlier Cantilever project set within a coastal context.
On the idea behind the home, Kylie Forbes, Cantilever’s Creative Director shares that the interior was designed with “a palette of shifting light through the home, we worked subtle tonal shifts across white, cream, grey and taupe to create a calm, responsive environment, which allowed the expansive landscape views to take centre stage at every opportunity. Repetition of textural contrast is achieved through varied adjacent materials, like stone, steel, timber and tile.”
Here, Cosh Living pieces are woven through expansive, light-filled interiors, balancing robustness with softness, seen in the Otway Trestle table dining table and Johanna armchairs. The architecture opens generously to landscape, and the furniture responds in kind – adding to the interior without interrupting a sense of flow.
In addition, the Otway Modular sofa and coffee table work with the Wye counter stools, bringing a sense of presence throughout the rooms. Though distinct in setting from The Eyrie, the project shares a common restraint: an emphasis on materials that weather time gracefully, alongside forms that endure.
Fresh Tradition offers a third articulation of this partnership. A reimagining of a grand townhouse interior, the project centres on Cantilever’s EDIT Kitchen System, which is also permanently on display within Cosh Living’s Richmond showroom.
In this home, the kitchen is a functional base that works in tandem with the art, lighting and selection of Cosh Living pieces, including the Jade sofa, Portland coffee table, and a pop of yellow in the Double Glaze side table.
For Annabel, the alignment between the two brands is instinctive.
““Both Cantilever and Cosh Living share a deep respect for craftsmanship and the care that goes into creating quality pieces. We’re aligned in our belief in timeless design, choosing to look beyond trends and instead focusing on forms and materials that endure,””
It is a philosophy that allows each project to evolve organically.
What binds these projects is a shared understanding of how homes change over time.
““What makes this project so special is the way the home has grown alongside the family, evolving through each chapter of life and adapting naturally to the rhythms of everyday living,” ”
Across The Eyrie, Scenic Abundance and Fresh Tradition, the collaboration between Cantilever and Cosh Living highlights how considered design, when founded in trust, can effortlessly support a home as individual as its owners.
