Refurbishment of an existing property unlocks the inherent value of it’s architecture, and connection to place. It maximizes impact, whilst reducing material waste, investment barriers, and time to completion.
It also requires depth of experience to ascertain the costs and risks adjacent to the opportunity.
“Because we produce the joinery, Cantilever can provide a strong gauge on these costs. We offer fixed Interior Design fees, independent of the build contract value. Build costs are dependent on variables like the complexity of design scope, site conditions and building types. We rely on each builder to supply these assessments, post a site discovery session. We establish the financial investment bracket needed to build the scope of work the client is seeking very early on, which is understood at the outset. These numbers are realistic, due to the site-expertise of the builder, and their familiarity with our designs and joinery.”

Responsibility
Management of timeline is a responsibility we share. We establish a realistic target of completion at the beginning of the project, and by working as a group, our time from engagement to completion is very efficient.
“We communicate timeline early, and keep the program as tight as possible by getting all the design work completed and lead times managed, so when we press go on-site we’ve got a clear and critical path. Our builders have multiple jobs on the go, so they’re rolling trades between projects to manage programs very efficiently. Most of our Multi-Room projects are completed within a year, Whole Home projects can take longer, dependant on the scale.”
